Tanya's great passion is helping to develop local communities by assisting NPOs involved in such activities. Having previously worked with National NPOs, she now primarily focuses on smaller NPOs in their early or slightly advanced developmental stages but is also enthusiastic to work with established organisations with proven societal impact.

Tanya's area of competences encompasses:

  • NPO governance
  • Advising and mentoring
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Facilitation
  • Compliance assessment
  • Fundraising
  • Capital campaigns and naming rights

Knowing that sustainable fundraising for many of her clients is the only way to maintain their valuable work and their impact on community development, Tanya conducts ongoing donor research and maintains relationships with present and prospective donors on behalf of her clients. The success of this approach can be seen in the fact that Tanya has, from 2011 to March 2017, raised R16 000 000 for smaller but vibrant NPOs and schools in the Western Cape.

As Tanya believes in continuous and life-long learning, she frequently upgrades her knowledge and skills. In this regard, she has recently successfully completed NPO governance and management and leadership related courses at the University of Stellenbosch Business School and has been awarded for her academic work (e.g. Best research essay award). Having had international exposure (she lived and worked for almost 4 years abroad), she is well positioned to understand international donors and local NPOs.

Tanya regularly maintains contact with other colleagues and participates in professional gatherings and discourses.
